I’m a huge mad men fan. I watched every season in a row and to this day, Peggy Olson remains one of my favorite characters of all time (that’s why you see her in the “You’re awesome” page and because she’s a badass lady).
Today I decided we should talk about something that designers and design companies (actually all professions) suffer from: the inability to say no to the client.
This is something that deeply annoys me. On a scale of 1 to 10, one being the lack of caffeine and 10 people who thinking Comic Sans is awesome, this is an eleven.
With a new year, comes new resolutions and sometimes a new career path.
I’ve been thinking about cons and pros about freelancing vs. a full-time job for some time now. Honestly, I prefer to work for someone else and within a team, other than to work for myself exclusively. I’m a natural chatter and I enjoy working with others but I still might give it a try.
We all have those days when we need our brain to go right but it keeps going left (actually, mine always go left because I’m a leftie, but you get the point). Those are the days when we struggle because we are on a tight schedule, the project is almost due and we haven’t found the answer or done everything that we should have.
If you are having (or had) one of those days, I’m sorry to tell you my friend, but you have what is called a creative block.
